Flaky and Savory Turkey Pot Pie

Dad’s Leftover Turkey Pot Pie

At our house, we always look forward to Thanksgiving leftovers. We make all the classics with our leftover smoked turkey, from turkey tom sandwiches, to pulled turkey tacos, and pulled turkey eggrolls.

But there’s nothing we crave more, than turkey pot pie.

This year, Mrs. Rendezvous located this promising recipe: “Dad’s Leftover Turkey Pot Pie” from AllRecipes.com. It’s got your typical peas, carrots, green beans, and pie crust:

2 cups frozen peas and carrots

2 cups frozen green beans

1 cup sliced celery

2/3 cup of butter

2/3 cup of all-purpose flour

4 cups of cubed turkey meat (light and dark)

4 (9-inch) unbaked pie crusts

But it’s the onions and seasonings that make all the difference:

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon celery salt

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

The results in the photo should speak for themselves! Pure smokey, flakey, and sweet deliciousness.

We make one fresh in the oven, and then vacuum seal the others, freezing for a weeknight delight.
